At Bob Oates Plumbing, Sewer, & Rooter, we understand the difficulties associated with home repiping. Through our trenchless repiping options this process can be handled in a timely manner and save residential floorboards or lawns of Squire Park in the process.
Trenchless pipe lining is the process of relining and replacing old or damaged pipes without having to resort to traditional digging methods. Before trenchless techniques were created, technicians had to dig into yards and homes in order to be able to examine and diagnose problems occurring in piping systems. This process leads to expensive home or lawn rehabilitation efforts on top of the cost of correcting the diagnosed problem. It also was much more time intensive, taking days or even weeks to complete the process. With trenchless technology, traditional methods can be avoided.
Camera inspections are always encouraged in trenchless repiping. Cameras that are specially equipped to be driven in pipes and drains can inspect every inch to diagnose the problem and feedback perfect dimensions if repiping methods are needed. This ensures the exact problem and place within a pipe, so our highly trained technicians can then decide which course of action is most suitable.
Repiping can be done through CIPP (cured in place pipes), or pipe bursting and relining. The process of CIPP starts with a camera inspection and thorough cleaning of the original pipe. This is to ensure the dimensions of the new pipe fit perfectly. A malleable epoxy lining will then be fit into the diameter of the old pipe it is replacing. Once it is properly cut, it is placed into the pipe by either the pull method or inversion method. Both methods do the same job in terms of getting your pipe to be properly secured in place. It is then left to cure, or harden, into a perfect useable pipe.
However, there are times when old pipes are too corroded or broken to justify the CIPP process. Instead, technicians will first insert a pipe burster. This device is dragged along the floor of the original pipe, breaking it apart. Then a perfectly measured and cut liner is carefully placed into the space left behind. This liner, once left to cure and harden, will turn into a fully functional pipe. All of this is done without the need for trenches or expensive disruption of the home and lawn, and usually only takes a few hours.
